Stephen Burrows is one of my favorite designers and is also in the soon to be released film on the battle of Versailles where he participated as one of the five chosen American designers. His is best known for his fluid jersey dresses that draped onto the body and wrapped and tied. The lettuce hem - of which this dress has in abundance - is his signature finish. Here he has edged this stunning off-white dress with a red stitch to create that detail! Two layers of a fluid jersey sit atop each other to make this gorgeous dress. This also gives the dress more movement and a sense of flow then a single layer would have done! The halter neck slips over the head and the whole front wraps over itself to form the bust and skirt. It ties with attached ties and all that ruffled edging settles beautifully into place. Very sexy and sophisticated. Great condition
Bust: no defined side seams but prob not suitable for more than a B cup
Waist: 13" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: 16-18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam and wraps to close so adjustable up or down from that an inch or two
Bodice: approx 14" from neck to waist
Waist band: 3" wide
Skirt length: 38" from bottom waist band to the longest part of the hem at the back
The dress is fully lined in a second layer of the same synthetic jersey. It wraps and ties to close with additional snaps and hook & eye. It is a touch too small for my mannequin so will sit slightly more closed along the front on the proper sized girl. There is a small repair and faint water spot along the front. It can be hidden under the belt and worn as is and is too fabulous and collectible so is presented as is with a greatly adjusted price point. Note that the color looks yellowish but this is a trick of the light - it is a true off-white in person.
